Edgewood, a once well known city, had become the designated zone for the battle between Heaven and Hell to unfold. Why Edgewood? Not only was it the largest city in the U.S. but it held the most balance tippers within it. What are these balance tippers? A chosen few mortals with powers inside of them that can be awakened when they've been put in certain situations. The same chosen few mortals that will be approached by those who follow Heaven or follow Hell and given a choice on which to follow.
In preparation of the city becoming the battlefield for the war to decide which side will influence the world for the next thousand years, it had been made hidden. Those who are not a part of the war or were not within the city have been made to forget that Edgewood even existed. That the people within it ever existed. No mortal eye can see the city as all they will see is barren land. It is in the heart of the Great Basin Desert; the largest U.S. desert which covers about 190,000 square miles. The city had been concealed and made untouchable to protect the outside world from becoming involved or influenced.
Those within the city and that are unaware of the war to come, have been made to have the illusion of their normal everyday lives. If they choose to leave the city, the believe they have and come back as false memories are planted into their minds of the events. The same with those they call on to visit. Also, the supplies in Edgewood never run low. The stores remain stocked as well as the factories.
Though the city has been shielded from mortal eye and touch, those of the supernatural descent can see it clearly. Because of this, Edgewood has become a point of interest for them. Those who enter the city are made to choose a side as well or to stay out of the way.
