Swimming, reading, learning to play any instrument he picks up, gardening, playing with small children, seeing how long he can last in water without turning into a mermaid, trying to figure out how to double breathe, scaring people by suddenly having gills, watching movies, reading comics, learning history, randomly asking people on the street what they think of mermaids, annoying his father by asking questions, snuggling his grandfather when he sees him, and wondering how much he can hurt himself before his demon side stops healing him and his mermaid-non-healing kicks in.

I must not hate mazes, I must not hate mazes, came Shinoa's thoughts as she wandered through the dark and badly lit maze. So far she had counted walking into about 40 dead ends. It took everything she had not to kick the wall and yell 'I give up!' at the ceiling. She was starting to get a little testy, and though she was trying to breath deeply and calmly, the musty air down here was not doing her well either. She had to find that door! She turned a corner and found herself facing another wall. A heavy sigh excaped her lips as she put her hands on her hips and scowled at it, before turning around quickly with a swift movement of her feet, to find herself staring at a door. "Finally!" she said aloud, fling her hands up in the air as he voice echoed through the maze almost as one's yell would in a cave. She walked forward and easily opened the door. A slight frown passed on her forehead, but she shook her head a little and opened the door wide to walk in a alleyway like room.
She wasn't kidding on the description. The room did indeed look like an alleyway. but there was only two ways in. The one door she was standing at, on the side of the room, and the other door at the end of the "alley". It looked heavily bolted. A slight frown pushed her slim eyebrows down, and she started to walk towards the other door. As she did so, the door she had just opened slammed itself shut, and locked and bolted itself with an audible click. Shinoa automatically went and pulled on the door, trying with her own strength and the force to try and open it. Useless. She sighed at her failure and made for the other door. She reached out with her force ability and felt the pressence of three beings on the other side. It was about then when something's fist hit the metal door in front of her from the other side. The fist left a sizeable dent in the door. Shinoa's eyebrows raised at the impossibility as she backed away from the door, wishing for the comfort of a lightsaber that she currently did not have.
As the slams into the door continued, Shinoa shook herself out and readied herself, calming her body and shaking herself out. She waited in a calm stance for them to break through the door, back straight and posture sort of menacing, arms wound behind her back admist themselves. She watched the fists continuing to slam into the door with an air of carelessness now. Eventually, one fist blew the door half off it's hinges and swung it off to the side. Shinoa didn't even flinch, though somewhere in her subconcious, she wanted to. Before her, three men entered the room, looking muscular, tall, and staring determindly at her. She stared sternly back at him. The one in the middle snarled, and turned to do a spinning kick at her. It was a simple matter for Shinoa to bend back out of the way. So it began.
His next move once his foot followed through and the kick failed was to kick her with the other foot. Two short ones aimed at her chest. Typical. She used her opposite arm to his foot, unwinding it quickly from behind her, to block each one with her mid arm. He then stopped using his feet completely and started aiming punches at her stomach and chest. Shinoa used her one arm to stop every one, slightly bored already, before grabbing the one man's arm sharply instead of blocking out, and flinging her other hand out from behind her to throw a punch directly at his face, using her Jedi reflexes for speed. He caught her arm at the wrist before it could make contact with her face. Shinoa's eyebrows raised abover her mask in surprise.
"Hunh," she said calmly as the man smirked at her while staring triumphantly at the catch he had made out of her wrist. "Upgrades." And with that she spun her wrist around quickly to catch his arm and pull it down, while at the same time taking his other arm she was holding and folding his arms up against his body, one hand quickly moving to hold his hands there as her other hand made a fist and punched him squarly in the nose, as his two other friends came up on either side of her and threw punches at her face on either side. She let go of her original assailant and blocked both of their punches quickly.
The one on her right took a hook punch at her and the one in front of her did so at the same time from the opposite direction, causing him to spin a little. She used her right arm to grab the man on her right's wrist and moved out of the way of the middle ones hook, causing him to swing around. She slammed the man on her right's arm onto the middle man's back, causing both of them to stop for long enough of a second for Shinoa to dodge the man on her left from punching her in the gut by kicking him squarly in the chest. He stumbled backwards and out of the way for the second at force of her kick. By this time the middle man had flung himself around, where his right hand man couldn't due to the fact he was still being held in place by Shinoa. She took the liberty of punching him in the stomach as he slammed his hand on her other wrist, forcing her to let his right man go.
Both of them swung punches at her now, and both were easily blocked. She swung a hook into the right man's stomach and then flipped up to dodge a hit at her kidneys to slam the side of her hand into the middle man's neck, and then pulling him behind her, noticing the left man was coming at her. She used the middle man as a lever to step on and fling herself into the air, using her Jedi reflexes to slam her foot into the middle man's back and then out into the left man's face. They both flung into cement floors as Shinoa landed on the ground, knocked out. Two down, right man to go.
He was ready for her, came up behind her with a swing aimed from behind at her eye. She grabbed his hand and twisted herself under his arm and around to face him. They both threw a few punches, blocking each other in turn before he grabbed her fully by the arm as she swung a right hook at his cheek, turned, and flung her at a bar. She grimaced a little, grabbed the bar with her hands, quickly put her feet up to run on the wall behind it, and twisted to acrobatically fling herself feet first back at him, using the pole for leverage. He flew backwards into wall, and then fell to the floor unconscious. It was about now, when Shinoa landed on the floor, looking about her with heavy breathing. She shook her shoulders out, rolled her neck around, and then proceeded to step over one of her assailants to make her way to the door.
She had nearly reached it when the walls started to fade and a figure formed in the doorway. Janus, holding a device in his hand. He was nodding appreciatively and quietly in his currently aged state. "Yes," he said in his quiet manner, "Upgrades. Not good enough apparently." he frowned and stared at the little device. Shinoa shrugged a little. She had no idea how the electronics of this thing worked. It was a room that could be used for training purposes as a simulation that took up the entire basement. That was about all she needed to know.
She stared at him for a moment, realized he was already lost in trying to figure out how to make it harder, and rolled her eyes a little. She came up to him, pulled the towel that was draped over his shoulder off, and wiped off the little bit of sweat that was on her body before slipping it around her neck, cupping one of Janus' cheeks with her hand, and kissing the other cheek lightly. It was nothing personal really, just a friendly thing. It was more she knew he would remember that later better than her saying goodbye out loud. Made for less chance of him having a heart attack when he finally came to his senses and realized she wasn't there anymore.
She hiked up the stairs from the basement, taking the steps two at a time, and then marched her way out the back door and into the garden. The sea air cooled her off as she took the towel off her shoulders and set it on the clothes line to dry, before half-skipping through the garden to find a fruit she liked. It took her a couple minutes, longer than her fight had lasted, to finally find a fruit she liked and pull it off the tree, but Shinoa was a fickle person. She liked certain things, and liked things to be just so. She took a bite lovingly into her fruit, and her ears picked up lightsaber sounds on the other side of the Garden wall. It was a sudden sound, the lightsaber had just been ignited. She listened for other ignitings or sounds of intruders, and found there to be none. She casually made her way to the garden's outside entrance.
On the other side, as she knew she would find, was Siri, practicing with her lightsaber. Shinoa leaned against the frame of the garden doorway and munched her apple-like-fruit happily as she watched Siri carefully, looking for wavers or inconsistencies. She so hadn't seen any, but she still looked for them anyway. She had no wish of startling Siri, so she stayed lounging on the garden doorway, chewing loudly, until Siri noticed her presence.
